Positions Available

ACTOR

Scare Actors work inside the haunted house, in the haunted corn maze, and around our guests in the Midway. No acting experience is necessary, we will train you at our Scare School. All costuming and make-up will be provided for you!

MAKEUP ARTISTS

Being a FX makeup artist at a haunted house can be an amazing experience. We promise a chaotic, fast-paced environment that is not for the timid. This position requires experience as we do not train newbies. Air brush experience is a plus. Any applicants for this position must audition their skills. We provide a fully supplied makeup department, with individual working stations and equipment for each artist!

EVENT STAFF – MIDWAY

Event staff mark armbands, direct crowds, announce rules, give information to guests, and operate our mini-escape rooms in our Midway. If you want to participate but don’t want to act, this is a great place to be! This section is a lot of fun and needs people with outgoing personalities, good customer service, and good people skills.

PARKING LOT ATTENDANT

Attendants are responsible for directing the traffic that comes in to park. This is an important job. Applicants must be able to think quickly on their feet and be responsible.

CASHIER

Cashiers sell tickets, sell concessions, and operate our cash registers. Applicants must be able to think quickly on their feet and be responsible. Previous cashier experience a plus!

TECH CREW

Work behind the scenes controlling props, electronics, effects, lights, or sound. Techs help in setting up the attraction, and after the season is over, help tear it down. People interested in this position must be able to work unloading, lifting up to around 25 lbs., moving things, using power tools, climbing ladders, painting, etc. Electrical or carpentry skills a plus!

SECURITY

Security staff help us keep an eye out by helping to direct guests to appropriate areas, and helping staff to keep our areas staff for everyone. Must be responsible, even tempered, and able to communicate well with guests, staff and other security personnel.

COSTUMING STAFF

Costuming staff are responsible for putting costumes together for characters, organizing costumes, cleaning and repairing costumes as needed. An eye for detail and a creative, artistic mind are a must. Costuming creation experience a plus!


Frequently Asked Questions

How old do I have to be to work at Dead Man’s Farm?
At least 18 years old.  If you get hired, we will need proof of age from a driver’s license or birth certificate.

Do I need experience?
No experience necessary! We will train for all positions except Makeup Artist, *see below. Previous experience is appreciated but not required.

What are the requirements?
Reliable transportation is a MUST! The ability to move around and/or stand for long periods. Good communication skills. A willingness to participate. And a love for all things spooky!

How much do I get paid?
Base pay begins at $8 per hour, with some positions making $10 per hour. *For Makeup Artist pay -please speak with makeup manager.

Do I have to work every night?
No. But we would prefer you to work as many nights as possible and let us know in advance which nights you are unavailable.  A level of consistency will provide the best experience for you, the other staff, and our guests.

What time do I have to be there?
Clock-in for most positions is between 6pm-6:30pm. Clock-out is determined by what time we close that evening.
